Pastor's Thoughts

Sunday, May 05, 2024

Good morning and welcome to DaySpring Community Church. We are so glad you are here to worship with us today. This morning, I want to share a message with you titled: Let's Just Praise the LORD. Our opening Scripture is found in Psalms 150:1-6. The message is a little different than usual. I want us to take a look at 4 passages that talk about praising God: Psalms 92:1, Psalms 138:1, 1 Peter 2:9, and 1 Thessalonians 5:18. It is good to praise the LORD. We need to praise God with our whole heart. We need to praise God for salvation. We need to praise God in everything. The psalmist says in Psalms 150:6, "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD."

There are many exciting things happening here at DaySpring. Be sure to check the calendar and make plans to be a part of everything we do. Don't forget to look for ways to be a blessing to others. Take every opportunity that God gives you to tell someone about Jesus Christ.

Pastor Dennis

Mid-Week Bible Study

Wednesday, May 08, 2024

Come join us as we spend time learning for Paul's letter to the Ephesians.

American Christians have generally been spared the persecution believers in other times and nations have suffered. But those days of ease may be passing. Now, in what some call a "Post-Christians culture," committed Jesus followers may soon find themselves like their New Testament forebearers. The big questions is whether we'll respond with joy and hope.

Nobody wants to be insulted. Or to end up in prison. Or to have his home or livelihood stolen away by haters of Jesus. But the early Christians accepted these things "joyfully."

That's only possible by taking the long view of life. If this world is everything, persecution is a tragedy to be avoided. But if we have "better and lasting possessions" in a world to come (and we do), our losses on earth are so minor as the be almost invisible. Pray as the apostle Paul prayed, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Romans 8:18

If you can't join us in person, make sure to join us online. I look forward to seeing each of you on Wednesday. It is an important time of fellowship, prayer, and study. Make Wednesday evening a priority in your life.

In His Service,
Pastor Dennis
